What types of card errors can Card Center fix?

CardCenter can resolve most common gift card and prepaid card errors including: “invalid code,” “already redeemed” (when legitimately unused), “region mismatch,” “PIN incorrect,” “card not activated,” “expired card with remaining balance,” and typographical errors in long codes. Our automated error-fixing tool corrects simple issues instantly, while our support team manually investigates complex cases within 1-2 hours. We cannot fix cards that were legitimately redeemed by someone else or cards reported as stolen.

How long does redeeming a card take on Card Center?

Most redemptions complete within 5 to 15 minutes. For high-value cards over $500 or during peak hours, processing can take up to 2 hours. Once redeemed, you receive a working code or direct payout to your chosen method (bank, crypto, or e-wallet). Bulk redemptions of 10+ cards may take up to 4 hours as each card is verified individually against fraud checks.

Can I exchange a card for a different brand even if I don't know the exact balance?

Yes. CardCenter’s exchange feature works with partial balances. First use our free “Check Balance” tool to verify the exact amount on your card. Then enter that amount during exchange. You will receive a new card for the same value (minus a small exchange fee of 2-5% depending on brand popularity). If your card has unexpected remaining value after your first exchange, you can exchange the residual balance separately.

How accurate is the free balance check tool?

The balance check tool is 99.7% accurate for supported cards. It connects directly to the issuing retailer’s balance API where available. For retailers without public APIs, Card Center uses historical redemption patterns and fraud databases to estimate balances. In the rare case (0.3%) that the tool shows a different balance than your card actually has, you can request a manual balance verification by support, which takes 15-30 minutes.

What is the difference between swapping and exchanging on Card Center?

Exchanging is a direct transaction with CardCenter: you give us your card, we give you a different card at a fixed rate. Swapping is peer-to-peer: you list your card and choose another user’s card to trade directly. Swaps typically have lower fees (1-3%) but take longer to find a match. Exchanges are instant but have slightly higher fees (3-6%). Both options are available for supported brands including Amazon, Walmart, Target, Steam, Google Play, Apple, Uber, and 200+ others.

What does "card status" tell me that "balance" doesn't?

Balance tells you how much money remains on the card. Status tells you the card’s lifecycle stage: “Active” (ready to use), “Pending” (awaiting verification), “Partially Redeemed” (some balance used), “Fully Redeemed” (empty), “Expired” (past date but may have balance), “Blocked” (flagged by issuer), or “Error” (needs manual review). Status is critical when selling or swapping cards, as a “Pending” card cannot be traded until it clears verification checks.

Do you support international cards and currencies?

Yes. CardCenter operates in 95+ countries worldwide and accepts cards in USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, JPY, SGD, and 40 other currencies. Regional restrictions apply: a UK-only Tesco card cannot be redeemed outside the UK, but you can exchange it for an international Amazon card. Card Center automatically detects your region and shows compatible options. Fees for cross-currency exchanges are 4-8% depending on conversion rates.

What happens if my card fails during exchange or swap?

If a card fails during exchange, Card Center locks the transaction and runs a full diagnostic. If the error is fixable (typo, missing digit, region lock), we fix it for free and complete the exchange within 1 hour. If the card is truly invalid or empty, we notify you immediately and cancel the transaction with no penalty. For swaps, the card is returned to you, and the swap partner is notified. Card Center holds no funds during this diagnostic period.

Is there a limit to how many cards I can process at once?

Personal accounts can process up to 50 cards per day across all features (fix, redeem, exchange, swap, balance check, status check). Verified business accounts can process up to 2,000 cards per day. Bulk operations are encouraged: you can upload a CSV file with up to 500 codes at once for balance checks or redemption. Bulk processing typically completes within 2-4 hours depending on queue size.

How are swapping matches found?

Swaps work on a matching algorithm. You list your card (brand, value, condition). The algorithm shows you available swap partners offering cards you want. You can accept an offer instantly or wait for better matches. Swaps are final once both parties confirm. Card  Center acts as escrow: both cards are held until both parties verify receipt. If a dispute occurs, support reviews logs and releases cards accordingly. Average swap completion time is 8 minutes.

Are there any hidden fees I should know about?

No. Card Center doesnt have any hidden fee, before you confirm any transaction. Typical fees: Balance check (free). Status check (free). Fix error (0.50%) per card or free with account). Redemption(2%) priority fee for express processing (15 minutes instead of standard 2 hours). Your final amount is shown before our support processes any service for you. No surprise charges ever.
